Kramer Morgenthau, A.S.C., is an American cinematographer, best known for his work in films such as ''Thor: The Dark World'', ''Chef'' and ''Terminator Genisys''. He was also director of photography for some episodes of television series such as ''Vegas'', ''Game of Thrones'', ''Sleepy Hollow'', and ''Boardwalk Empire''.〔(CreativeCow: "Behind the Lens: Kramer Morgenthau, ASC on Sleepy Hollow" by Debra Kaufman ) 2013〕 He is a member of both the famous Morgenthau dynasty and the Lehman banking family. ==Biography== Morgenthau was born to a Jewish family, the son of Ruth (nee Schachter) and Henry Morgenthau III. His father was an author and television producer. His mother was professor of international politics at Brandeis University, an advisor to President Jimmy Carter on rural development in poor countries, and in 1988 ran unsuccessfully as a Democratic candidate for Congress in Rhode Island. His great great grandfather was Mayer Lehman. He has one brother, Henry (Ben) Morgenthau (born 1964) and one sister, Sarah Elinor Morgenthau (born 1963).〔(Morgenthau Family Tree ) retrieved October 3, 2015〕 His grandfather was Henry Morgenthau Jr. the U.S. Treasury secretary during the Roosevelt administration; his great-grandfather, Henry Morgenthau, was the ambassador to the Ottoman Empire during World War I; his uncle is Robert M.
